Carpet Patch Repair (Section Repair)

We provide carpet patch repair services across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, simply fill the form below and we will confirm.

A single small damaged area can completely spoil the look of a carpet. Whether it is an iron burn, cigarette burn, hair straightener mark or a small bleached or damaged patch, it often stands out immediately when you walk into the room.

At Hungaro Carpet Services we offer small carpet patch repairs to improve these types of localised carpet damage.

The aim is simple: remove the damaged section and replace it with a matching piece of carpet to make the area look significantly better.

This service focuses specifically on small carpet patch repairs for localised damage.

In some situations the damage may not be deep. If only the very tips of the carpet fibres are affected, it is sometimes possible to carefully trim away the damaged fibres from the surface. When this works, the damaged area can become visually unnoticeable and a patch repair may not be necessary.

However, if the fibres are melted, burnt deep into the pile, or the backing of the carpet is affected, trimming will not solve the problem. In those cases a small patch repair is usually the best option.

The final repair method is always determined after inspecting the carpet. In some cases careful trimming may be enough to improve the appearance, while in other situations a patch repair will be required.

Common examples include:

  • iron burns

  • cigarette burns

  • hair straightener burns

  • small melted areas

  • small bleached spots

  • small damaged patches

These types of damage usually affect a small section of the carpet, while the rest of the carpet is still in good condition.

Instead of replacing the whole carpet, the damaged area can often be cut out and replaced with a matching piece of carpet.

Patch repairs require a matching spare piece of the same carpet.

Many homes still have leftover offcuts from when the carpet was originally installed.

These usually provide the best match.

If there is no spare piece available, sometimes a small piece can be taken from a hidden location such as:

  • inside a cupboard

  • under a wardrobe

  • under large furniture

  • another concealed area

This spare piece is then used to replace the damaged section of carpet.

Before arranging a repair we normally ask customers to send a few clear photos of:

  • the damaged area

  • the surrounding carpet

  • any spare carpet piece if available

This allows us to:

  • check if the damage is suitable for patch repair

  • explain what improvement may be realistic

  • confirm if a spare carpet piece is needed

If the repair is unlikely to improve the carpet enough, we will tell you honestly.

It is very important to understand that carpet patch repairs cannot guarantee an invisible result.

Because a separate piece of carpet is inserted into the existing carpet, the repair may still show signs such as:

  • visible patch edges

  • outline of the repair area

  • slight colour or shade differences

  • slight texture differences

Even if the spare piece comes from the same carpet, the surrounding carpet may have changed over time due to:

  • sunlight

  • foot traffic

  • general wear

  • age of the carpet

The purpose of the repair is to remove the damaged section and significantly improve the appearance, not to make the repair completely undetectable.

We always explain this clearly so expectations remain realistic.

Frequently asked questions

Can every burn or damaged spot be repaired?

Most small localised damage can be improved with a patch repair if a suitable spare piece of carpet is available.

Will the repair be invisible?

No repair can guarantee that. The patch or edges may still be slightly visible depending on carpet type and wear.

Do I need a spare carpet piece?

Yes, a matching piece of carpet is normally required for patch repairs.

Do you repair other carpet problems?

At the moment we focus only on small patch repairs for localised damage and do not provide stretching, re-fitting or other structural carpet repairs.

How do I get a quote?

The easiest way is to fill the form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
